Chief promotes Benson, Mitchel to vice-president

KEARNEY, NEBRASKA, U.S. — Roger Townsend, division president Chief Agri/Industrial Division announced on March 15 that Ed Benson has been promoted to division vice-president/general sales manager-North American Sales of Chief Agri/Industrial Division, and Allen Mitchel has been promoted to division vice-president/general sales manager-International sales of chief Agri/Industrial Division.

Benson has been at Chief Agri Industrial for over nine years and has been instrumental in leading the domestic sales effort with significant growth in sales and distribution of the full line of Chief Agri Division products. He came to Chief with significant experience and a proven track record in sales and marketing of agricultural products for the grain industry. Townsend noted that sales and distribution of Chief products in the U.S. market have increased each year since Benson joined Chief, including sales growth of over 20% this past year.

Mitchel has been at Chief Agri Industrial for nearly 10 years. He originally joined Chief as the Customer Service Manager for domestic sales and was named sales manager-International Sales in 2007. Mitchel had previous experience in agri-business, and had also worked for the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. Townsend said that sales and distribution have increased consistently under Mitchell’s leadership, with an unprecedented increase of nearly 40% in the past year.

“Both Ed and Allen are well deserving of being named vice-presidents of Chief Agri/Industrial Division,” Townsend said. “They lead by example, and their passion and enthusiasm for taking care of the customer has been a key ingredient for our success at Chief Agri Division.”
