UZWIL, SWITZERLAND — The Bühler Group announced in late December that Achim Klotz, member of the Executive Board and head of the Advanced Materials division of Bühler Group, will leave the organization in the course of the first half-year of 2013. He will be succeeded by Samuel Schaer, who up to now has been in charge of the Grinding & Dispersion and Nanotechnology business units.
Schaer graduated in physics from the Swiss Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland (EPFL) and has been with Bühler Group since March 2002. He started his career in the business development function of the Nanotechnology business unit, of which he took charge in 2005. During this time, he accumulated management experience and know-how in the fields of development and market-relevant technologies.
In 2009, he was appointed overall head of the Grinding & Dispersion and Nanotechnology business units. Bühler noted that his long entrepreneurial track record and his diverse skills enable Schaer to fulfill the requirements for the successful further development of the Advanced Materials division of Bühler Group.
Bühler said it thanked Klotz for his dedicated efforts and his successful activities over the past 14 years and wished him all the best for the future and the coming challenges.
