Brabender employee receives doctorate

SOUTH HACKENSACK, NEW JERSEY, U.S. — C.W. Brabender Instruments, Inc. announced on May 10 that that Shuping Yan, laboratory manager for the Food Division, has successfully completed the requirements for her PhD.
C.W. Brabender Instruments said Yan has brought many years of significant experience and expertise in cereal chemistry, food testing and new food product development to the company. Her higher educational background began with a B.S. in Grain and Oil Storage at Henan University of Technology (formerly Zhengzhou Grain College) in China. She achieved her M.S. in Grain Science and Industry from Kansas State University and has completed her PhD in Biological and Agricultural Engineering this month at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, U.S.
Yan is responsible for maintaining the C.W. Brabender Food Laboratory while conducting research on its extensive line of laboratory scale food testing instruments. She is responsible for publishing papers on her new research findings as well as handling all customer technical inquiries in support of our food instrument product line for the North American market.
