ISTANBUL, TURKEY — ALAPALA Machine Industry Trade Inc., a leading manufacturer of flour mill projects in Turkey and worldwide, recently won a tender issued by the Syrian government to supply four flour mills to Syria.
The company and its joint venture partner Tefirom Group, a construction company, announced that they have signed a $75 million contract to build and operate four flour mills with a capacity of 600 tonnes per 24 hours each. The flour mills will be built in the northern cities of Aleppo and Idlib and in the central Syrian city of Homs. They will be fully installed with Alapala’s machines including a fully-automated system, electrical and mechanical services.
The four mills are set to be fully operational by 2014. Alapala said this turn-key project is its first in Syria, and it is looking forward to introducing its know-how in the Syrian milling sector.
