NEW YORK, NEW YORK, U.S. — dbc SMARTsoftware, Inc. announced on Sept. 14 that it has further strengthened its offering through the acquisition of London, Ontario, Canada-based agribusiness solutions company Thede Warde Systems, Inc. (TWS).
dbc said the acquisition of TWS will extend its reach both into the agronomy industry, and also provide industry participants with advanced technology for customer self-service portals, including access from mobile devices.
"Our vision is to provide solutions for every stage of the agribusiness value chain — especially where commodities are transformed or change ownership," said Henry Bonner, chief executive officer, dbc SMARTsoftware. "This acquisition is part of a larger strategic roadmap for complete decision support and commodity management across the business cycle, particularly as the industry becomes more vertically integrated. The TWS team brings over three decades of deep industry knowledge, which combined with dbc SMARTsoftware, offers the most experienced talent pool and leading solutions to the industry."
Jon Neutens, president of TWS, added: "We are extremely excited about this opportunity for our customers. The needs of both the commodities and agronomy sectors have advanced due to increased volatility in the markets and a number of other factors that will impel continuous improvement in both business processes and real-time information management. With dbc, not only will our customers will have access to enhanced risk management tools, but we will have the scale and scope to continue investing in and delivering advanced technical solutions."
