Export products become cheaper in Kazakhstan in May 2014

Export products became cheaper in Kazakhstan by 0.1% in May 2014, whilst prices on import products, on the contrary, increased by 2.5%, the press service of the Statistics Agency reported.


Prices on ores of non-ferrous and ferrous metals thus reduced by 7.6%; liquefied propane – by 2.9%; copper – by 2.5%; ferroalloys – by 1.5%; oil – by 0.1%. However, prices on natural gas increased by 11.6%; aluminum and ferrous metals – by 5.7%; oil products – by 1.2%; coal – by 0.9%.
Prices in the consumer sector of Kazakhstan have also increased: crops – by 13.3%, wheat – by 11.1%, cotton – by 1.7%, barley – by 0.9%.
Imported timber went up as well by 17.4%; poultry – by 14.4%; textile products – by 11.7%; coffee – by 5.8%; vegetables – by 5.3%; margarine – by 2.7%; sugar – by 2.4%; rice – by 1.4%; vegetable oil – by 0.8%; tea – by 0.7%.
