Vietnamese feed millers in December launched the Vietnamese Feed Association to represent their interests. The new association consists of 46 members, including feed millers, government officials and traders.
At the opening session, Dick Tope, vice-president of Pure Foods and president of the Philippine Association of Feedmillers Inc., told how the Philippine association was organized and how it benefited its members. Officials from the American Soybean Association also were on hand to offer support and provide ideas on operational direction.
The timing also allowed ASA officials to introduce to the group the arrival of 15,000 tonnes of U.S. dehulled soybean meal through a U.S. commodity donation by way of Land O’Lakes.
