PORTLAND, MAINE, U.S. — The U.S. Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently certified EnviroLogix Inc.’s QuickStix Test Kit for NK603 Roundup Ready maize. The test kit met performance claims of detecting one NK603 Roundup Ready kernel in 200 kernels (0.5%) and one Roundup Ready soybean in a 1,000-soybean sample (0.1%).
The QuickStix kit offers a fast, reliable and easy method for testing trucks, barges and bulk containers containing maize, the company said. QuickStix test kits provide easily understood "yes/no" results within two to five minutes for testing grain in the field or wherever convenience and speed are critical.
One QuickStix kit tests for Cry9C, Cry1Ab and NK603 Roundup Ready maize as well as Roundup Ready soybeans.
