Recent technical and metallurgical advances have ensured the quality of Turner Chilled Rolls’s mill roll manufacturing and has maintained the company’s prominent position in the milling industry.
More than 80 tonnes of rolls per month are exported to North America, Australia, South Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe. From the vast cattle feed lots of the American mid-west to chicken farms in Thailand, from pig breeders in the U.K. to dairy feed stations in Argentina, Turner rolls are utilized at the high-performance, cost-effective heart of most mill stands and as mill roll replacements.
Flaking, cracking and crumbler mill rolls, available in smooth, micronizing, straight or spiral flute and hollow, solid or watercooled, are all cast at Turner’s factory in Ipswich, U.K. Turner produces two grades of rolls, standard chilled iron and Ni-chrome, and makes standard roll types as well as uncommon or special designs.
"Our customers understand the principle of ‘value engineering,’ and the simple fact that alternative, cheap products cost a whole lot more in the long term," the company said.
Technically, the Turner roll offers a unique combination of a "one shot" metal pouring technique, producing a sound homogenous roll that will not laminate and is resistant to shear stress, bending moments, deflection and premature failure. Successful multi-corrugation of its rolls is the company’s hallmark.
In addition, Turner Chilled Rolls also offers a comprehensive roll repair service to extend the roll life. Turner has the capability to re-grind, re-flute, repair and replace damaged spindles, service-bearing assemblies, returning many styles of rolls to like-new.
