IPSWICH, SUFFOLK, U.K. —
British mill roll manufacturer Turner Chilled Rolls Ltd. has been acquired by Union Electric Steel Corp., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S., the company announced recently.
Turner will continue to operate under its current name and management.
Carl Coleman, who was recently promoted to managing director, said the company would now be free to sell in all markets and "define our own destiny, development, markets and sales policy."
The U.K. roll maker also unveiled a new company logo. The company said the new design was developed as a form of roll branding that, in addition to its unique hard stamp roll number, should help combat the growing number of counterfeit rolls being sold as genuine Turner rolls.
Turner, on Jan. 1, also launched a new web site at www.turner-chilled-rolls.co.uk.
