BANGKOK, THAILAND —FoodMarketExchange.com has introduced a new Internet-based service called "Trade Leads" to promote trade offers for food buyers and sellers from around the world.
FoodMarketExchange.com verifies the legitimacy and existence of the company represented by each applicant before one is allowed to post any information on Trade Leads. The web site also enables members and inquirers to exchange private messages.
Southeast Asia’s first business-to-business e-marketplace for the food industry acts as a trading hub between Thai food manufacturers and exporters and overseas buyers. Last year, the site launched a host of services, including an online shrimp auction service, allowing processors to bid for shrimp directly from farmers’ ponds; an e-sourcing service, allowing food companies to procure raw and indirect materials online; and an online paddy rice auction service, allowing rice mills to buy from rice farmers online.
