Terry Barrans, president and c.e.o. of Fisher Mills, Inc., dies at 44

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, U.S. Terry L. Barrans, president and chief executive officer of Fisher Mills, Inc., died Nov. 29 in Seattle following a nine-month battle with cancer. He was 44.
Mr. Barrans was named c.e.o. of Fisher Mills in 1989. He joined the company in 1976 as a staff accountant and received a succession of promotions in the following years, including chief accountant, secretary-treasurer, vice-president of finance and executive vice-president. He was named president in 1987 and received the added c.e.o. title two years later.
The board of directors of Fisher Mills has elected R. Bryce Seidl to replace Mr. Barrans as president and c.e.o. Mr. Seidl joined the company as executive vice-president and chief operating officer earlier this year.
