Saskatchewan Wheat Pool names interim heads for grain, food

   REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA — The Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in late July named Frank Burdzy as interim executive vice-president of its grain group and John Hicke as interim executive vice-president of the food and industrial group.

   The appointments were announced by Bill Hunt, interim chief executive officer of the Pool. Mr. Hunt was recently named to that position after Don Loewen, c.e.o. of S.W.P., and Bruce Johnson, executive vice-president of the grain group, left the company to pursue other interests. Mr. Hunt previously was executive vice-president of the food and industrial group.

   Mr. Burdzy is the vice-president of country services/AgPro Grain at S.W.P.

   Mr. Hicke is the vice-president of business planning and development at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

   The grain operations of S.W.P. include 500 country elevators, two inland grain terminals and export terminals at Vancouver and Thunder Bay, Ont. The Food and Industrial Group includes CSP Foods, a supplier of flour, bakery mixes and other baking ingredients; Can-Oat Milling; and CanAmera Foods, Canada's largest oilseed crushing and refining company.
