CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, U.S. — The Quaker Oats Co. has donated U.S.$27,500 to the Kansas State University Foundation to establish the Quaker Milling Science Scholarship Program in the College of Agriculture at KSU.
Quaker said the scholarship would be used to promote educational excellence in milling science and management in the Department of Grain Science and Industry, encourage students in the areas of scholastic performance and community involvement, provide internship opportunities to ensure that highly qualified individuals are available for the food industry and provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the College of Agriculture.
To qualify for the milling science scholarship, students must exhibit leadership in educational or community organizations and complete an intern-ship with a food and beverage company.
