A recently completed project included the design, production and assembly of a steel silo and storage plant for the Port of Saleef grain terminal in Yemen. The terminal, home of Yemen International Food Industrial Co. (YIFICO), has a total storage capacity of 120,000 tonnes and began operating in February 2002.
Petkus installed two ship unloading and two silo loading systems each with a capacity of 2x300 tph, a 300-tph flour mill, five weighing systems with 200-tph bagging capacity and direct loading for trucks.
Founded in Germany in 1852, Petkus Wutha was the first company in the world to manufacture seed cleaning machines. Today, it is one the world’s largest manufacturers of seed processing machinery, with over 200,000 machines sold in the past 30 years.
Petkus products include the Multicleaner, indented cylinder separators and gravity separators; a continuous flow dryer for drying grain and maize; chemical seed treaters for grain; and conveying equipment, bucket elevators, troughed chain conveyors and belt conveyors.
