In a joint venture agreement, Perten Instruments, Inc., Springfield, Illinois, U.S., will sell, support and service France-based Chopin's flour and grain analysis equipment in the United States and Canada.
Bob Whisler, who has been associated with Chopin for more than 10 years, has joined Perten as commercial product manager for the Chopin line.
Mr. Whisler has more than 20 years' experience in the flour milling and baking industries, including positions with Krause Milling Co.; DCA Industries; Nabisco, Inc.; and Seeburo Equipment Co.
Gavin O'Reilly, Perten's general manager, said the focus of the joint venture will be to "better educate the market to the benefits of Chopin products and to bring the line of instruments up to the usage level enjoyed throughout the rest of the world."
Perten also opened a new office in Monterrey, Mexico to service its customers in Mexico and Central America. The office will be managed by Edi Solis and will employ a full-time service technician.
