Pellet mill magnets

Wedge magnets from Bunting Magnetics Co., Newton, Kansas, U.S., provide economical protection against tramp metal damage in pellet mills. These separation magnets are designed for easy installation in the vertical or steeply inclined feeder chutes, up to eight inches wide. For wider chutes, multiple magnets can be mounted across the width or even staggered above one another. The wedge-shaped top diverts the product flow across the collection surfaces, where powerful magnets behind stainless steel panels capture and hold ferrous contaminants. With stainless steel covers to resist corrosion and wear, the magnets reduce product contamination and prevent equipment damage from ferrous material. Bunting wedge magnets resist demagnification and "last essentially forever," the company said.
