The National Association of British and Irish Millers is now taking enrollment for the next session of its flour milling correspondence courses. "We believe that good training is key to unleashing the potential of a flour mill’s employees," said Nigel Bennett, NABIM secretary.
The course is made up of seven autonomous study modules, including "Hygiene, Health and Safety"; "Wheat and the Screenroom"; "Mill Processes and Performance"; "Product Handling, Storage and Distribution"; "Flour"; "Power and Automation"; and "Flour Milling Management." Students may study the modules in any order and in any combination.
All coursework is in English, but because over half of NABIM’s students live outside the U.K., the association is working on a multi-lingual glossary of milling terms.
