WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. — The U.S. Grains Council board elected a new slate of officers when it met for its 42nd annual Board of Directors meeting at the end of July.
Don Jacoby of AgriStar Global Networks, Ltd. was elected chairman and will provide leadership, speak and travel on behalf of the Council in support of its efforts. Also elected were Terry Wolf, Illinois Corn Marketing Board, as vice chairman; Paul Williams, Washington Barley Commission, as treasurer; and Davis Anderson, GROWMARK, Inc., as secretary.
"Our changing and challenging global agricultural marketplace demands that all organizations — private and public — work together to ensure market success," said Jacoby. "My efforts as chairman will be focused on achieving more results with less through leveraging information, knowledge, projects and staff of those organizations that affect the export of grains. I'm excited to work with the strong pool of industry leaders and volunteers within this organization."
Jacoby is vice president of customer relations for AgriStar and has 35 years of agribusiness experience, which includes 12 years with Novartis Seeds, Inc. and Northrup King Seed Company and 22 years with International Harvester/Case IH.
