The CalorMatic heat processor from Sweet Manufacturing Co., Springfield, Ohio, U.S., utilizes a fluidized air bed to dry, roast, toast, bake or sterilize a variety of materials, including grain, soybeans, egg shell, bird seed and other free-flowing materials without direct contact with a flame to avoid scorching. The CalorMatic provides variable control of operating temperature, product depth, retention time and airflow. Seven models are available in capacities from 1 to 15 tph. The 5-tph Hawk (pictured) roasts whole soybeans at Agrimark Farmers Co-op in Sullivan, Ohio, U.S. When installed with a cooler conditioner by MRC Sales, London, Ohio, U.S., the CalorMatic maximizes product quality and operating efficiency while cooling the product for storage.
