INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — Harvest States, which represents the grains and foods business of CHS Cooperatives, has named Ames, Iowa-based Todd and Sargent as design/build general contractor for its new soybean crushing facility project. Crown Iron Works, Roseville, Minnesota, and Roskamp Champion, Waterloo, Iowa, also have been chosen as major suppliers of processing equipment for the new plant.

Groundbreaking for the new facility, which will be located at Fairmont, Minnesota, is scheduled for April 2002.

The plant will be built on a 26-acre site that is part of a larger tract already owned by CHS Cooperatives, and it is expected to have daily crushing capacity of 110,000 bushels. The plant is scheduled to be online in time for the 2003 soybean harvest, according to Harvest States.
