ASSUMPTION, ILLINOIS, U.S. — The GSI Group, which manufactures storage and material handling equipment for the grain and feed industries, on Jan. 1 opened a new product development and training center in Omaha, Nebraska, U.S., and appointed Bob Moser to manage the facility.
Mr. Moser also was named vice-president of GSI's material handling division.
GSI said the new product development center, located at 14344 "Y" Street, will be used to support new product development as well as product application and user training.
"The new center is a key element in GSI's strategy to provide a complete bulk handling and storage equipment offering, and will provide an excellent forum for both in-house and customer training," the company said.
GSI also opened a new product development and testing facility in Hampton, Nebraska, which will work closely with the Omaha and Assumption offices in introducing and improving the company's products.
Mr. Moser, a 25-year veteran of the material handling industry, has developed several lines of machinery and many of his innovations in conveying, elevating, screening, sampling and other equipment have resulted in U.S. patents.
Mr. Moser also has been appointed to the GEAPS Facility Design Conference Task Force. He is a frequent speaker on material handling design, application, maintenance and training to industry groups, forums and college campuses, and is currently studying business administration and marketing management at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
