KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, U.S. — In a meeting at the corporate headquarters of Sosland Publishing Co. in early March, the management of Golfetto S.p.A. announced the completion of the company's corporate reorganization and restructuring.
Last November, the Bernardi family of Italy purchased a 50% share in Golfetto, a milling engineering firm based in Padova, Italy. The Bernardi family also owns Sangati Berga, another Italian manufacturer of milling equipment based in Quinto di Treviso.
Golfetto and Sangati Berga will remain separate business entities, with independent management, shareholders and manufacturing facilities. The companies described their relationship as a "strategic alliance," designed to form a larger Italian milling engineering concern that will allow both companies to be more competitive in the world marketplace.
Under the alliance, Golfetto and Sangati Berga will be able to integrate suppliers and cooperate in research and development.
"Our intention is to divide the world market in each companies' area of influence," said Marco Rinaldi, Golfetto's managing director.
Sangati's core customer base is in such regions as Brazil, where it has a manufacturing facility, as well as China and Egypt. Golfetto's core base is in "first-world countries," such as the United States, Canada and Northern Europe.
The group also announced that Cereal Technologies, Inc. (CETEC), Millers-ville, Maryland, U.S., would be the sole representative in North America for both the Golfetto and Sangati Berga range of equipment.
"The board of directors has decided, as a result of market rationalization, to market the Golfetto range of equipment in North America," it was announced. The full range of Golfetto equipment will continue to be manufactured and marketed, the group said.
Current Sangati customers will continue to receive the full technical and spare parts support from Sangati Berga through CETEC. A full stock of Sangati Berga spare parts will be placed in the CETEC/Golfetto spares warehouse "to facilitate the provision of prompt service and support."
