The Grain Elevator & Processing Society is encouraging applications for a revived scholarship for agribusiness professionals interested in studying a foreign language.
The Henry H. Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship is awarded only to full-time agribusiness professionals who want to study a language other than their native language. Previously, the scholarships were available for U.S. agribusiness professionals studying foreign languages, but may now be used by industry professionals in other countries who want to study English.
The scholarships will apply to tuition, books and fees only at institutions accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
The scholarship had been administered by the Cargill Foundation of Minneapolis from 1982 to 1997. Henry Kaufmann, a multi-lingual native of Germany, was a GEAPS International president and treasurer, and technical director of plant operations at Cargill, Inc.
Applications are available online at www.geaps.com and must be submitted by May 1.
