GAM conference sets attendance records

THE GAM 2000 FORUM of the European Flour Milling Association, held May 18-20 in Prague, Czech Republic, set a record for the number of delegates (95) and number of countries (21) represented, including two delegates from Chile, according to Martin Rupert, president of the Czech Milling Industry Association, which hosted the event.
Topics covered during the conference included Central and Eastern European cereal markets in a period of change; the quality and quantity aspects of cereal production in Central and Eastern Europe; the workforce in the new millennium; Allied Mills' Apollo Project; crisis management in the food sector; and the effect of the W.T.O. Millennium Round on millers.
The program also included a sight-seeing tour of Prague and a gala evening at the Zofin Palace.
