Frasch elected AFIA Chairman; Koenig chairman-elect

WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. — Richard Frasch, president, Cargill Animal Nutrition, was inducted as new chairman of the American Feed Industry Association at its annual convention in May, and Steve Koenig, Bio-products, Inc., Fairlawn, Ohio, was chosen chairman-elect. Their one-year terms will run through May 2003.
Dwight Armstrong, North American Nutrition Companies, Inc., ended his yearlong term as AFIA chairman at the convention. Armstrong will remain on the Board and serve on the Executive Committee until May 2003.
Frasch has been Cargill Animal Nutrition’s president since 1998 and has been with the company since 1978. He manages Cargill’s feed operations worldwide. As chairman, Frasch hopes to focus on consumers of meat, milk and eggs.
Koenig is a past AFIA director and former chairman of AFIA’s Nutrition Council, serving on the Council for nearly 12 years. Koenig joined Bioproducts, Inc. (formerly the Animal Nutrition Division of Diamond Shamrock Corp.) in 1980 and held various managerial posts leading to his presidency in 1996.
