The extremely sensitive E-Z Tec Metal Detector from Eriez Magnetics, Erie, Pennsylvania, U.S., detects ferrous and nonferrous metals in the one-half to 2 millimeter range. Detection takes place as the feed material passes the center of the aperture. Metal contamination is recognized and a signal is generated, activating a reject device. Multiple trips in quick succession are logged in memory for sequential rejection. Remote controls are available for all aperture sizes, and can be located up to 30 meters from the search head. Digital and analog solid state components provide years of reliable service.
