The VSH 2096 huller from Codema, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S., has been successfully used in oat and sunflower processing plants for high-quality, cost-effective hulling. Each unit takes up only 8 square feet (.7 sq. m) of floor space and has capacities up to 4,500 lbs per hour. The heavy, welded-steel housing is rugged, reliable and sanitary. Features include a specially designed impeller for higher efficiency and more uniform hulling; a direct-drive motor that requires less maintenance and energy; and electronic speed control to fine-tune the hulling action. The huller also can be converted to process other products such as buckwheat and barley. Reversible legs allow for floor or ceiling mount, while a rotatable hopper provides up to five different outlet positions.
