The European Commission has cleared under the European Union’s Merger Regulation the acquisition by U.S. agri-business company Archer Daniels Midland Co. of sole control of the Alfred C. Toepfer International/InTrade (ACTI) group, a trader in grain and other agricultural commodities based in Hamburg, Germany.
The companies’ activities overlap slightly in the trading markets for seed oil and oilseed meal, but this does not give rise to competition concerns, the Commission said.
