CTB Inc., a designer, manufacturer and marketer of systems for the grain, poultry, hog and egg production industries, recently established a European logistics center, Chore-Time Europe B.V., in Asten, The Netherlands.
According to George Murdoch, executive vice-president of CTB’s international business unit, the new logistics center, which will primarily sell Chore-Time’s products for raising poultry, was established through the purchase of a controlling interest in Chore-Time/Brock International’s master distributor in The Netherlands, Veldmaster B.V.
CTB said it also would close its Chore-Time Brock B.V. facility in Deurne, The Netherlands, and transfer its operations to the new company.
Chore-Time Europe B.V. also has a wholly owned subsidiary near Poznan, Poland, which has now been designated Chore-Time Europe Sp. z.o.o.
Murdoch said the new European logistics center would offer faster delivery time, the ability to purchase in less-than-container-load quantities, euro-based pricing and payment terms, reduced import tariffs "and a Chore-Time package that will be completed with C.E.-approved parts and various other European components to make the entire package better suited to local needs."
Leo van der Velden, minority owner of Chore-Time Europe B.V. and formerly managing director of Veldmaster B.V., will serve as the new company’s managing director. Henk Struving, who previously served as a European regional sales manager for CTB for eight years, has been hired as sales manager for the new logistics center.
Van der Velden and Struving will be responsible for sales of Chore-Time products in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Murdoch said. The men also will manage a sub-dealer network that will provide local sales and service support.
Jo Raedts, most recently regional general manager for Chore-Time Brock B.V., will assume a new role as international product manager for CTB’s international business unit, based in Milford, Indiana, U.S. He will assist in the development of products for the international market and in the completion of the Chore-Time product offering in Europe and Brazil.
