World Grain expresses its condolences to the families and friends of the seven New Zealand Institute of Crop and Food Research staff members killed and two injured in a tragic air accident in June.
Senior managers, business and communications staff were returning from a business meeting in Palmerston North to Christchurch when the commercial charter plane crashed. All nine passengers on the flight worked at Crop & Food Research at Lincoln. The two injured staff were admitted to hospital in Christchurch.
Crop & Food Research chief executive, Paul Tocker, said the crown research institute is deeply shocked. "This is a tragedy for the families, the company and us all. They were friends as well as colleagues," he said.
