NAIROBI, KENYA — Cimbria East Africa Ltd., a subsidiary of Cimbria Holding in Denmark, recenly designed, delivered and installed a 30,000 tonne silo plant for
Lesiolo Grain Handlers Ltd., in Lanet, Nakuru, Kenya, 160 km northwest of Nairobi.
The equipment delivered included a weighbridge truck scale, an automatic sampler, lab equipment, one small dryer with two 20-tonne silos, enabling them to dry one truck at a time and either deliver product back into the truck or divert it into the main plant.
The main plant is equipped with two intake lines and two loading lines, each at 100 tph capacity (in wheat), as well as screen cleaners and two high-capacity dryers. All horizontal transport is by belt conveyors. Bulk loading is carried out via two elevated silos, and one load-out line has the capability for high-speed bagging on the first floor, from which bags are loaded into a truck via a direct slide.
The storage silos, supplied by Chore Time Brock, consist of eight hopper silos for pre-storage before drying and 16 main silos. Cimbria Manufacturing supplied the drying, cleaning and conveying equipment.
