The Challenge 2000 plus milling system from Maschinen- und Muhlenbau Wittenberg GmbH, Wittenberg, Germany, maximizes yield by optimizing the process and significantly shortening the mill diagram. The modular, steel-frame design can be installed in existing buildings; the shorter diagram requires a space of about 6 cubic meters. The mill can be used for a variety of grain types and will produce a standardized line of products from 50 to 500 tonnes per 24 hours. Yield is up to 79.5% with ash content below 0.63%. Efficient damping techniques shorten tempering times. The fully automated operation offers 24-hour monitoring and integrated quality management requires few personnel.
