Eridania Beghin-Say's flagship company Cerestar in October celebrated the opening of its newly expanded starch and glucose factory at Sas van Gent, the Netherlands.
The opening marked the completion of two years' work that doubled the plant's production capacity and involved an investment of nearly 200 million euro (U.S.$167.8 million). Now one of Cerestar's largest European production facilities, the Sas van Gent factory processes grain into starch and glucose products for use in the food, pharmaceutical, paper and agrochemical industries.
