Beijing grain firms report loss in second half of 1998

BEIJING, CHINA Grain circulation departments in Beijing reported losses of 49.3 million yuan (U.S.$5.9 million) in the second half of 1998, which was 328 million yuan (U.S.39.5 million) less than the corresponding period of 1997, according to China Daily.
The city's directly owned state grain companies earned 2.2 million yuan (U.S.$266,000) in profits.
