THAILAND — Asia’s largest rice silo has been built in Phichit Province, Thailand. The 84,000-tonne storage capacity facility is a 50/50 joint venture between President Agri Trading, one of the country’s leading rice exporters, and Pipat Paniangvait, the president of affiliate company, Thai President Foods.
Approximately a U.S.$15 million investment, the country’s first high-tech integrated rice operation aims to produce high-quality, export-grade white rice by controlling and standardizing the process from farm to sales.
The company, which aims to break even within four years, has revealed plans to move into related industries, including rice-oil and animal-feed plants.
