Approved fat analysis methods

The Association of Analytical Communities recently approved The Foss Group’s Soxtec automated Soxhlet methods, particularly the Diethyl Ether Method and Hexane Method, for the determination of fat in feeds, cereal grains and forages. The new standard methods describe a 1-hour extraction procedure and offer a faster alternative than the current 4 to 16 hour Soxhlet method. Up to six samples can be extracted simultaneously to maximize productivity. These methods assist in improving laboratory safety, quality assurance and efficiency. FOSS offers a full line of sample preparation mills and homogenizers that compliment its Soxtec solvent extraction analyzers. For further information visit www.foss.dk.
