ADM debuts enzyme laboratory in California

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Archer Daniels Midland Co. has opened an enzyme laboratory in Davis, California, U.S. Scientists there will work with other ADM research and development facilities throughout the world to develop enzyme products for a variety of markets.

The Chicago, Illinois, U.S.-based company will partner with Qingdao Vland Biotech Group Co., Ltd. in China to develop and commercialize feed enzymes for animal health and nutrition. ADM and Vland signed a joint development agreement under which the companies will share enzyme-producing strains as a basis for developing feed enzymes. Both companies will commercialize products developed under the agreement.

“In addition to an accomplished staff of scientists and researchers and a great partner in Vland, our new lab will benefit from its location near the University of California, Davis, which provides access to world-leading expertise and resources in the areas of food science and nutrition ad well as animal health and agriculture,” said Todd Werpy, chief technology officer for ADM.
