ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, U.S. — The two producer boards of CHS Lake Region and the CHS business based out of Milton, North Dakota, U.S., recently agreed that consolidating their operations would be in the best long-term interest of patrons and their communities.

“Both of our businesses are financially strong and coming together will allow us to put the appropriate level of resources into programs and services that help our farmer-owners grow and succeed,” said David Haslekaas, board chair, CHS Milton Group. “Together, we’ll be able to reach efficiencies for you that we could not achieve individually.”

The transition is expected to be finalized by Sept.1. Mark Greicar, currently CHS Lake Region general manager, will serve as general manager for the new entity. Tom Lehar, current general manager in Milton, moves into a new role as region vice-president for CHS Country Operations this summer.

“Our combined size and scope will enhance our ability for leverage with chemical manufacturers and strengthen our risk management of market positions, among other advantages,” said Terry Haman, board chair, CHS Lake Region. “We anticipate our customers’ day-to-day experience with us to remain much the same as they’ve come to expect, with the people they know and trust.”

As full-service ag retailers, CHS Lake Region and the CHS group based out of Milton collectively serve farmers and other customers in 15 communities across 5 counties in North Dakota.
