The Long Co. names new president

ELMHURST, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Mike Maurine has been named president of The Long Co., effective Oct. 1.  He will be replacing Bill Zimmerman, who will be retiring at the end of September.

Maurine brings a wealth of experience in the baking industry, including management positions at Ventura Foods, AB Mauri/Fleischmann’s Yeast, Cargill/Horizon Milling and Best Brands. Most recently, he was director of bakery sales and purchasing at the Long Co. since 2013.

The Long Co. offers a full range of bakery consulting services, covering every aspect of a bakery's operation, including engineering, production, formulation, sanitation, purchasing, technical, financial, human resources, logistics, safety training, product labeling information and baked product scoring. The company’s consultants are industry experts that have the unique advantage of observing firsthand industry-wide technical developments, and have the experience to determine what is working favorably and what is not.
