Washington, D.C., U.S. — The North American Millers’ Association (NAMA) President and Chief Executive Officer Jim McCarthy announced on June 5 that Benjamin Boroughs has joined NAMA as the Director of Regulatory and Technical Affairs.
Boroughs joined NAMA from the Office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (Minnesota) where he focused on agriculture, environment, commerce and transportation issues. Prior to his work in the Senate, Boroughs held internships with the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
“We are delighted to have Ben join our team at NAMA. His strong background in agriculture and public policy made him an ideal candidate for the job and we look forward to introducing him to our membership and the industry at large,” said McCarthy.
Boroughs graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Genetics and received his Master’s Degree in International Science and Technology Policy from George Washington University.
NAMA is the trade association of the wheat, corn, oat and rye milling industries. Member companies operate mills in 38 states and Canada, representing more than 90% total industry production capacity.
