Schlafer succeeds Maass at NAMA helm

ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, U.S. — Greg Schlafer, vice-president of sales, Bakeries and Foodservice, General Mills, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S., has been elected chairman of the North American Millers’ Association. The group met for its annual meeting Oct. 25-28 at The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina, U.S.
As chairman, Schlafer succeeds Paul T. Maass, president of the Commercial Foods Division of ConAgra Foods, Inc., who completed a two-year term as chairman. Elected vice-chairman of NAMA was James M. Meyer, president of Italgrani USA, St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.
Schlafer, who was NAMA vice-chairman from 2010-12, has been on the group’s board since 2005 and Executive Committee since 2009. Additionally, he serves on the NAMA Finance/Budget Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee on Production Data Collection.
Meyer also has been a board member since 2005 and has served on many NAMA committees. He is chairman of the Finance/Budget Committee.
