MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — Grain industry professionals will have more training options available next year, as the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) and Kansas State University (KSU) expand and upgrade its distance-education program, GEAPS said on Aug. 14. A total of 16 online courses will be offered during 2013, up from 14 this year and 12 in 2011.

The schedule includes five new or updated courses, including: “Introduction to Grain Operations,” “Grain Quality Management,” “Grain Elevator Equipment Maintenance,” “Grain Facilities Planning & Design,” and “Preventing Grain Dust Explosions.”

The five-week, 10-hour courses will be offered, two or three at a time, in January, February, March, April, May and November. Six of the courses will confer credits toward the new GEAPS/KSU Credential in Grain Operations.
