WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. — Carl Casale, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of CHS Ins., is scheduled to keynote the program for Export Exchange 2012. This event — held Oct. 22-24 at the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S. — brings together the world's top buyers and end-users of U.S. coarse grains and co-products with U.S. suppliers and agribusiness representatives.
"Casale's unique insight on global markets for coarse grains will be of particular interest to both the international attendees and industry representatives," said Tom Sleight, U.S. Grains Council president and chief executive officer.
"Casale will provide a big picture outlook of the current global economic and political climates and discuss what that means for the future of coarse grains supply and demand. He will also highlight the key issues facing the industry today and discus how to creatively take advantage of the opportunities provided by those issues."
Casale became president and CEO of CHS Inc. in January 2011, after a 26-year career in agribusiness. Prior to CHS Inc., he worked at Monsanto in a variety of roles including executive vice president for North American commercial operations and in 2009 assumed the role of CFO. He has a bachelor's of science degree in agricultural economics from Oregon State University and an executive masters of business administration from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.
Co-sponsored by the U.S. Grains Council and the Renewable Fuels Association, Export Exchange 2012 drew 400 participants from 33 countries the last time it was held in 2010, resulting in significant new relationships and business deals. This year, it is anticipated to bring together more than 150 international buyers of U.S. coarse grains and DDGS with more than 300 U.S. producers and agribusinesses.
