Nearly 600 attend Russian grain conference

GELENDZHIK, RUSSIA — Nearly 600 people from 19 countries attended the XIII International Grain Round “Grain Market – Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” Conference in Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Territory, June 6-9.

The countries represented included Russia, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Singapore, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and others.

The general sponsor of the round was KRASNODARZERNOPRODUKT, Official Marine Partner – Inflot. Sponsorship was provided by Schyolkovo Agrochim, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, AgroBazis, SKAT, Bühler AG, Avgust Crop Protection, Severnaya Kazna Insurance Company, BI Granum, Merci Invest Group, National Mercantile Exchange, Soyuz Trading, Rossiya Insurance Company.

Discussions during the event included state regulation of the grain market, forecasts of production, price dynamics and grain market conditions as well as the use of new technologies of grain production, processing and storage, the development of transport and financial infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to the grain industry competitiveness in Russia’s membership in the WTO and the main directions of technological modernization, as well as the problems of credit, new instruments of financing and grain business insurance.
