MANHATTAN, KANSAS, U.S. — Cargill and Horizon Milling, a Cargill joint venture, announced on Sept. 13 a new scholarship available to milling science and management students at Kansas State University (KSU).

Recipients of the annual scholarship will be two undergraduate students enrolled in the milling science and management program in the department of Grain Science and Industry. Each recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

The scholarship is being funded by a $25,000 grant given by Cargill and Horizon Milling over the course of five years.

"We are very fortunate to have Cargill and Horizon Milling provide this scholarship for our Milling Science and Management students,” said Dr. Dirk Maier, professor and Grain Science Department Head, KSU. “This will give our students significant financial help as they work toward their degrees.”

“Cargill and Horizon Milling are committed to supporting education and developing future leaders, particularly in the area of agriculture,” said Troy Anderson, vice-president of operations, Horizon Milling. "The deserving students who receive these scholarships will ultimately benefit our communities by utilizing the skills they develop in the milling science and management program at KSU. We’re honored to have the opportunity to play a role in that.”
