Sweet adds engineering manager

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO, U.S. —Sweet Manufacturing Co. announced on Oct. 27 that Chris Smith has joined the company as the engineering manager. 

Smith is a mechanical engineer with multiple years of experience in global operations. He will be responsible for leading the Sweet Engineering team. He will also work closely with both internal and external customers to provide appropriate equipment and project design and layout recommendations that will ultimately satisfy customer material handling requirements.

Smith has a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University.  He also has a Professional Engineer (PE) Certification from the state of Ohio. His PE certification reinforces his professional achievement and experience within the engineering field and is a mark of high quality standards and workmanship, Sweet said. Additionally, Smith brings proficiency in SolidWorks, CAMWorks, MATLAB and FEA.

Smith has a broad background in engineering having previously served as a senior engineer and mechanical design engineer. He was most recently with an industry leader in the design and manufacture of suspended access systems for the industrial/commercial construction market.
