HOT Program registration

MANHATTAN, KANSAS, U.S. – Registration is now open for the new Hands-On Training (HOT) Program hosted by the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) and Kansas State University (KSU).

The course will be Dec. 12-14 at the Hal Ross Flour Mill facility at Kansas State University in Manhattan. Registration is limited to 30 participants.

The new HOT Program will teach participants how to safely operate, maintain and repair grain conveying equipment.  Participants will be taught how to safely operate and maintain common conveying equipment through demonstrations, practice and immediate feedback. Over the course of 2 1/2 days, they will work directly on the following: bucket elevator, distributors, screw conveyors, bin sweep, chain conveyors and belt conveyors

Safety and lubrication are key components of the program. Attendees will complete online modules prior to the start of the course, and will continue to learn and strengthen their skills while working directly on the equipment. A third module will focus on the development and implementation of a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.

The HOT program is designed to deliver what the industry wants and needs in a maintenance training program:  A hands-on course that supplements on-the-job training.

The cost of the course foe GEAPS members is $1,375 and $1,725 for non-members. To register, click here
