CRYSTAL LAKE, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Mathews Company (M-C) announced on Feb. 1 that it has promoted Joseph Shulfer to president. Shulfer replaces Larry Antos, who will now manage Mathews’ growing international division.
Shulfer will be spearheading growth efforts and oversee company operations ensuring collaboration of sales, marketing, R&D, engineering and manufacturing activities.
In his prior position as director of engineering and support services, Shulfer was instrumental in directing the development of the latest technology of grain drying equipment for the company that includes the Pinnacle family of dryer control systems, proprietary moisture-based dryer control equipment, and M-C Trax, a dryer remote monitoring system.
He implemented R&D field research project protocol for new product development, seeking dealer and customer input on working farms throughout the Midwest and Canada. This input led to the release of both the AccuDry moisture-based dryer control and the energy efficient  redesign of one of M-C’s most successful products, the 10’ diameter tower series.
Shulfer also overhauled the company’s service protocols, and implemented M-C University for Technical Training, a field service, curriculum-based, hands-on factory training certification program for M-C’s independent dealer network.
Prior to joining the Mathews Company, Shulfer held multiple engineering and management positions for Eisenmann Corp., a key supplier to the ethanol industry where he successfully developed and managed a product line which encompassed environmental and renewable energy solutions.
