Opie Brush under new ownership, management

   KANSAS CITY, KANSAS, U.S. — Opie Brush Co., a supplier of brushes for the milling industry since 1883, has been sold to Dick Bigler and Associates, Salina, Kansas. Connie Dulin has been named general manager.

   Ms. Dulin previously was administrative assistant with the Association of Operative Millers, which is based in Kansas City.

   Ms. Dulin began working for the A.O.M. in 1975 as office secretary and was promoted to administrative assistant in 1982. She helped plan the A.O.M.'s 1975 conference in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., and 1976 conference in Toronto, Canada, and beginning in 1977 became the association's conference registration manager.

   Ms. Dulin will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations at Opie Brush, including manufacturing and sales. “The contacts I've made over the years through the A.O.M. will serve me very well at Opie Brush,” she said.

   Opie Brush's operations will remain in Kansas City, Kansas.

Kepler Weber earns ISO 9001 certificate

   PANAMBI, BRAZIL — Kepler Weber, S.A. has received ISO 9001 certification from the Bureau Veritas Quality International for the development, design, manufacturing and sales of equipment used in the storage, preservation, processing and handling of grains and bulk materials.

   Duilio W. de La Corte, Kepler Weber's foreign trade superintendent, said that in order to receive the ISO certification, the company set specific production targets that emphasized productivity and competitiveness.

   “These were the actions that made it possible to go deep into a total quality program designed toward exports,” said Mr. de La Corte.
